Women's League

Bern and Zug get a small pause, Neuchâtel and Langenthal face off in the Playouts, and the four others are battling it out in the Play-ins.

swisshockeynews.ch

The PostFinance Women's League ended with SC Bern, finalist last season, and EV Zug, champion of the SWHL B last spring, separated by just one point. The two do not have to participate in the Play-ins (best-of-three) and will face whoever makes it out of them.

One series to decide who will move on is between the HC Davos Ladies and HC Fribourg-Gottéron. A gap of 21 points stands between them, and Davos won all four meetings during the regular season. Fribourg, for their part, did manage to reach the final in the National Cup, though.

The other series is between the HC Ambrì-Piotta Girls and the defending champion, the ZSC Lions. Each of them won two of the regular season games against one another, and only four points separated them in the final standings. For the Lions, ending in fifth place is a bit of a fall from grace, having been a dominant force in the league for quite a while before this season.

Last but not least, the Neuchâtel Hockey Academy and the SC Langenthal Damen square up in the Playouts. The Academy won three of the four direct duels during the season. This series is a best-of-five.
