A busy day awaits fans of the PostFinance Women's League. On September 13, the new season is going to start at 14:00 with a matchup between defending champion SC Bern and dethroned longtime champion ZSC Lions. The opener is followed by HC Fribourg-Gottéron hosting HC Davos, the Neuchâtel Hockey Academy going up against EV Zug, and last but not least, SC Langenthal facing HC Ambrì-Piotta.

Teams will play four games against each other. The last round is held on January 25, right before the Olympic break. Postseason - starting in late February - will see the same format as this past spring. While the two top-ranked teams are headed to the semifinal straight away, places 3-6 need to go through the play-ins (best-of-three) again. The two lowest-ranking teams are facing each other in a playout-series. This series, as well as the semifinals and the final, will be best-of-five. To determine the third place, a single game is played between the two teams defeated in the semifinal.
