Women's Hockey

Starting this coming season, there will be a new junior league purely for girls in the range of U13 to U16.

Nine teams will be included in the new U16 Junior Women's League: the Brandis Juniors, the HC Dragon Thun / Yetis, the EHC Olten Prospects, EV Zug, HC Fribourg-Gottéron, the HC Thurgau Girls, Lausanne HC Féminin U16, the Bern Girls Selection, and the ZSC Lions.

Per team, four "overagers" of up to 19-years-old will be allowed, but the league is generally intended for players in the range of U13 to U16. Its purpose is to give girls more regular and proper play on their level and to support their individual development.

There will be two regional rounds as well as an interregional one. Each team will play eleven or twelve games, but the specific mode is still being worked out.
