The forward's contract with the Carolina Hurricanes has been terminated. He might be headed to Switzerland instead.

swisshockeynews.ch

Just yesterday, the Carolina Hurricanes put Brendan Lemieux on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination. The 28-year-old has only suited up for the Canes' AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, so far this season. According to Instagram channel "Puck Empire", Lemieux is going to join HC Davos.

Lemieux, a second-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, has 312 NHL games for various organizations under his belt, recording 37 goals and 38 assists. He is the son of (in)famous Claude Lemieux - who had a brief stint with EV Zug during the 2003-04 season.

On a sidenote, Brendan Lemieux has recently started following HC Davos' account on Instagram.
