Switzerland has named their provisional first six members for the Olympic Games next February. They are pretty much what one might expect - Nashville's Roman Josi, Winnipeg's Nino Niederreiter, Los Angeles' Kevin Fiala, and the trio from New Jersey, Nico Hischier, Timo Meier and Jonas Siegenthaler.

"These six players are not only top performers in the NHL, but also absolute key players for our national team", head coach Patrick Fischer states. "Their early nomination gives us a strong basis for squad planning towards the 2026 Winter Olympics."

The actual final rosters, for both the men and the women's squad, will be announced at the beginning of 2026.

Some of the other participating nations' first six members are National League representatives. New EV Zug-import Tomáš Tatar features on Slovakia's roster, HC Ambrì-Piotta is represented on host Italy's squad by Diego Kostner. More might be yet to come.
