The Austrian forward will attend the Canadiens' training camp in September. Whether he returns to Zurich afterward remains to be seen.

Holding his rights since drafting him 75th overall in 2022, the Canadiens de Montréal have signed Vinzenz Rohrer to an entry-level contract valid until 2028. Despite this, the forward might not have made his last appearance in Switzerland - if the NHL organization were to assign him to the AHL this fall, the 20-year-old would instead play for the ZSC Lions the coming season.

Even though he is from Austria, Rohrer spent most of his junior time within the Lions' organization. In 2021, he made his first jump overseas to suit up for the OHL's Ottawa 67's. Two years later, he returned to Zurich. With Rohrer as part of the main squad, the Lions won the last two National League championships.

Rohrer has also been a fixture on the Austrian national team since making the step into men's hockey.
