Akira Schmid has been assigned to the AHL

The 24-year-old goaltender was one of three players the Vegas Golden Knights assigned to their AHL affiliate.

Akira Schmid will thus start the season with the Henderson Silver Knights. It will be his first season with them, previously he had suited up for the New Jersey Devils and their AHL affiliate, the Utica Comets. 

Last season, the goaltender appeared in 19 games for the New Jersey Devils and 23 games for the Utica Comets.
