Spengler Cup

Even if the National League team ends up winning and would therefore be invited back, they presumably will not travel to Davos over the Holiday break.

swisshockeynews.ch

Two extended trips to Davos appear to be enough for HC Fribourg-Gottéron. Stating that the Spengler Cup would be a great experience, "three times in a row would probably be taking things too far", Hubert Waeber, the Dragons' president, tells Klaus Zaugg ("Watson").

So, even though the champion gets automatically invited back the following year - the reason Fribourg is participating this time -, the National League team is unlikely to be seen in Davos between Christmas and the New Year next winter.

As Zaugg presumes to know, the Swiss team replacing the Dragons could possibly be the SCL Tigers.
