The 52-year-old Canadian succeeds Robin Farkas who stepped down due to health reasons.
Yves Sarault will take over the assistant coach position effective immediately and will support EHC Basel's head coach Eric Himelfarb from here on out.
His contract is valid until the end of the current season. Sarault has been coaching in Switzerland for the past decade. Last season, he served as the assistant coach for HC Fribourg-Gottéron.
