Nelson Chiquet has hung his skates up and retired from professional hockey. The 27-year-old forward was without a club since the end of the last season, which he spent with HC Sierre in the Swiss League. "This choice was prompted by health problems last season, which led me to rethink my priorities. Fortunately, I'm feeling much better now" writes Chiquet, who adds that he is already busy with a new professional opportunity.
Over the course of his career, Chiquet suited up for HC Fribourg-Gottéron from 2016 to 2018, then three seasons with the GCK Lions, and the last three years one season each with the HC Ticino Rockets, EHC Winterthur, and finally HC Sierre.
