HC Sierre has announced the signing of Marco Maurer. Coming over from HC Ajoie, the defender will stay until 2026. The club from the Valais will be organization number nine for the 37-year-old, his first one in the Swiss League.

Maurer comes with the experience of 928 games in the National League with EV Zug, Genève-Servette HC, the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, the ZSC Lions, HC Lugano, EHC Biel, SC Bern, and Ajoie (and three in the Swiss League with Lausanne HC and the Swiss U20).

"With my experience, I hope to contribute to the club's success and help achieve our ambitious goals—promotion and a new ice rink", Maurer states. "This project is a great opportunity for Valais, not only for the fans but also for the development of young talent in the region. I am fully committed to giving my all to make this season a success!"
