Earlier today, the "Oltner Tagblatt" mentioned that EHC Olten would have an interesting option available regarding goaltending. That option turns out to be Laurin Solèr, as the club informs. Having signed his first professional contract with HC Davos just recently, the netminder will get playing experience with Olten. In turn, this likely means goodbye for Jeffrey Meier, who is signed until spring.
As the OItner Tagnatt further mentioned, EHC Biel's Luis Janett was likely to spend most of the remainder of the current season with Olten. Whether this will still be the case now remains to be seen.
On offense, Frantisek Rehak will predominantly suit up for his B-licence holder, EHC Kloten. Kloten's Joel Marchon, whose B-licence is with Olten, will, in turn, mostly play for the Mice. This arrangement is on a week-to-week basis.
For the coming season, Olten seems to have most of their (theoretical) roster planning done by now. Between the group of forwards with expiring contracts - Rehak, Rihards Melnalksnis, Patrick Obrist, and Jeremy Jabola Prada -, one is expected to receive an extension. The addition of a further Swiss League player should be forthcoming, and departing Eric Faille is likely to be replaced by another import. Another round of talks with Silvan Wyss will determine the look of Olten's defense.
