Earlier today, HC La Chaux-de-Fonds announced Evgenï Chiriaev's retirement. He has been back with HCC since 2024, where he was brought up and made his professional debut in the 2006-07 season. In 2009, he left his youth club for HC Lugano, after which he also played for HC Ajoie, EHC Basel, Red Ice Martigny, the SCL Tigers, HC Ambrì-Piotta, EHC Olten, and EHC Visp.
"It is not an easy decision, but making it here, where it all began, feels even more meaningful at this moment. (...) Hockey has given me everything: immense joy, difficult moments, but above all, incredible human connections that will stay with me forever", Chiriaev is cited on the club's website.
In 2025 and 2026, he won the National Cup with HCC. Furthermore, in 2023, he was suiting up for Lausanne HC as playoff reinforcement when they were promoted to the National League. Across his career, the forward played 852 games in the Swiss League (567 points) and 135 in the National League (35 points).
