Five new players join the GCK Lions for the upcoming 2025-26 season: forwards Luca Cunti (from EHC Biel), Villiam Haag (Swede, last played for Vålerenga in Norway), and Noam Holzer (from HCFG jun.), and defenders Victor Ojedemark (from EHC Olten) and Marvin Rötheli (from SCB jun.). For Luca Cunti is a return to his formative club.

Team manager Patrick Hager: "I am extremely pleased that Luca has decided to return to our organization. After the departures of the two experienced players, Yannick Blaser and Robin Leone, we have found an ideal replacement for Leone in him. Together with the equally experienced defender Victor Oejdemark, who replaces Blaser in defense and provides stability, our young players can also count on a lot of experience in the team in the coming season".

For his part, Villiam Haag will take the import slot left free from Victor Backman, who left the Lions after a total of six seasons to join HC Thurgau. Haag, 31, played in Norway last season, collecting 59 points in 54 games. The year before he won the Danish championship.

Additionally, the club announces several departures: captain Yannick Blaser and goalie Sascha Ruppelt have decided to retire, while six players, namely Victor Backman (HC Thurgau), Robin Leone (EHC Winterthur), Noah Böhler (HC La Chaux-de-Fonds), Fabio Murer (HC Thurgau), Livio Truog (HC Thurgau) and Lenn Zehnder (EHC Visp) will move to other clubs in the Swiss League. It is not yet clear where Dominic Buchli and Rodzers Bukarts will play, while Timo Bünzli, Daniel Olsson, and Alessandro Segafredo are now part of the roster of the ZSC Lions.

Finally, the GCK Lions also announces several one-year extensions (Lorin Grüter, Gian Morson, Christian Pinana, Nauris Sejejs, Yann Vögeli, Noah Greuter, Kimo Gruber, Jarno Kärki, Julian Mettler, Jan Neuenschwander, and Jan Spring) and a few promotions from the U20 squad: Tim Metzger (goalie, 20) and Nino Niedermann (defender, 19) for two seasons, and Andrin Rüedi (forward, 20), Yannik Ponzetto (forward, 19), and Noel Berner (forward, 19) with a one-year deal.
