Right at the start of the playoffs, the Swiss League club announced the contract extensions of two forwards.

Brett Supinski

EHC Basel

American forward Brett Supinski has extended his contract for another two years until 2028. The 30-year-old has been under contract with Basel since 2022 and has served as captain since 2023. “It is incredibly important for us that Brett, with his playmaking skills and, of course, his role as a leader in the team and captain, has committed to EHC Basel for another two years,” said team manager Kevin Schläpfer in the club's press release.

Gianluca Barbei has extended his contract for another year until 2027. The 25-year-old is currently playing his second season with EHC Basel. “We are very happy that Gianluca will remain with us for another season. With his energy and offensive power, he is an asset and a reinforcement for our team,” Schläpfer is quoted as saying.

Supinski finished the regular season second in scoring in the club with 56 points in 47 games, while Barbei collected 27 points in 50 appearances.
