As EV Zug announced today, they have signed Jan Kovář to an extension, valid until 2027. Having joined from HC Plzeň in 2019, it will be years seven and eight with the National League team for the Czech.

"Jan is a leader, on the ice and in the dressing room", team manager Reto Kläy notes. "He is of great importance to the team."

Since becoming part of Zug, the currently 34-year-old has suited up 322 for his colors, recording 81 goals and 219 assists. He has also won the national championship twice and was elected playoff MVP both times, as well as regular season MVP once.

"I feel at home here. I love the city, I love the fans" Kovar is cited. "I am proud to be able to play in this great organization for two more years."
