HC Davos has announced the signing of Lars Steiner and Guus Van der Kaaij to new contracts (until 2027), as well as Tim Minder to an extension (until 2028). The two arrivals both previously played for Davos already and matured in their youth department. In Minder's case, he has been back with the National League squad since last summer.
"With the signing of Guus and Lars, we are making targeted plans for the future of our team", team manager Jan Alston states. "Both players embody the HCD DNA and have developed greatly in Canada, both athletically and as individuals."
Steiner and Van der Kaaij (both 18 years old) have taken similar recent career steps, both making their National League debut with Davos and then joining the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies the following season. In Steiner's case, he is a prospect eligible for the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
As for Minder, the defenseman is currently on his second stint with Davos after a successful tryout last summer. So far this season, he has been splitting time between the National League and the Swiss League, where the 23-year-old plays for EHC Arosa.
