According to the "Neue Zürcher Zeitung", the three players will have to look for new employers for the 2026-27 season. While Untersander's contract is valid until 2028, Aktell and Vermin's deals expire in 2027.

SC Bern was, however, not willing to comment on the "NZZ"'s report. It thus remains to be seen whether all three players will have to suit up for different teams next season.

Untersander's agent Sven Helfenstein confirmed to "Blick" that his client has been asked to look for other opportunitues. According to Helfenstein, EHC Biel offered to take on the defenseman's contract, but Untersander rejected the offer.

Häman Aktell is also Helfenstein's client. The Swede will have to undergo hip surgery and will be out until November. They are currently looking for a solution.

Untersander has been with the Bears since the 2015-16 season, Vermin returned to SCB in 2022 and Häman Aktell has been with the National League team since the end of the 2024-25 season.
