Put on waivers by the Pittsburgh Penguins with the purpose of contract termination, there were rumors that Jesse Puljujärvi could be headed to Switzerland in February. He instead joined the Charlotte Checkers and later the Florida Panthers. But the forward still might come to Switzerland after all. As "Blick" writes, the 27-year-old has signed a contract in the National League for next season, and, according to rumors, it may be with HC Lugano.
Puljujärvi, a Finnish-Swedish dual citizen, has made 414 NHL games, recording 61 goals and 73 assists. In the AHL, he has appeared 109 times, putting up 28 goals and 45 assists. Internationally, he has chosen to represent Finland.
