EHC Biel has announced the signing of Cédric Aeschbach. Coming over from EHC Basel next summer, the defenseman will be staying with them until 2028. It will be the third National League jersey the 23-year-old will be wearing.
"Cédric Aeschbach has made significant progress in the Swiss League over the past few seasons and has continued to develop", the defender's future club states on their website. "He has strong playmaking skills, recognize passing lanes early, and brings calmness and vision to the build-up play. Now is the right time for him to take the next step and prove himself in the National League."
Having made his first National League appearance during the 2020-21 season with the SCL Tigers, Aeschbach moved to EHC Basel in 2023 after 25 more games for Langnau. Last spring, he helped out HC Ajoie avoid relegation.
