Austin Czarnik was signed by Bern this summer after Kalle Kossila failed his medical checks. With nine goals and eighteen assists in 22 games, he now leads the National League in scoring. Before arriving at SCB he played in the NHL and AHL for four seasons.
However, the relationship between him and the organization seems to be ending. According to Klaus Zaugg ("Watson"), the 31-year-old American will suit up for Lausanne HC as of next season.
He would be the next player to leave the Bears this summer: Philip Wüthrich has agreed to terms with HC Ambrì-Piotta, Patrik Nemeth will supposedly play for HC Fribourg-Gottéron, and Yanick Sablatnig is being courted by EHC Biel (as is Thierry Bader). Moreover, according to Zaugg, ZSC's Yannick Zehnder, who was of interest to SC Bern, has decided to not join the Bears.
