National League

Swiss teams seem to chase Finnish players at the moment. While Jesse Puljujärvi does not plan to return to Europe for now, Teemu Pulkkinen might make his way to Switzerland.

swisshockeynews.ch

"Iltalehti" reported earlier this week that Jesse Puljujärvi might join the National League after clearing waivers. Instead, he signed a PTO with the Charlotte Checkers.

While he had options in Europe (Genève-Servette HC and the ZSC Lions were supposedly interested), the forward decided to try his luck elsewhere in North America: "I had options in different countries in Europe. I ended up with this option. I'm not giving up on the NHL yet. I was already here in North America, so it was easy to stay here. I can go back to Europe later."

Another Finn might, however, go down a different route. According to "MTV Uutiset", Teemu Pulkkinen and HK Poprad have dissolved their working agreement. The 33-year-old forward will supposedly join a Swiss team for the remainder of the season. Pulkkinen has appeared in 16 games for Poprad as well as in 22 games for the Schwenninger Wild Wings this season.
