As rumored, the Swedish defender will indeed return to Switzerland, this time with the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers.

A few days after the announcement that Philip Holm had parted ways with his previous club Örebro HK, the 32-year-old has found a new employer. The defenseman will reinforce the defense of the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers for the 2024-25 season. The Lakers already have six imports under contract including five Swedes, two of which are also defenders.

Team manager Janick Steinman describes the new acquisition as "an experienced two-way defender with good playing and skating qualities". This signing is also to be seen as a way to stabilize the defense: "We currently still have some defenders who are struggling with injuries and rehab programs. A stable defense is key to having the best possible start to the season" adds Steinmann.

Holm appeared in 50 games for Örebro last season, recording three goals and 13 assists. He has already gained some experience in Switzerland, as he played for Lausanne HC for nine games during the 2019-20 season.
