National League

The 33-year-old former forward retired from professional hockey at the end of the 2021-22 season.

"Yes, that is correct," Marc Lüthi told Klaus Zaugg when asked whether Alain Berger's number will be raised to the rafters of the PostFinance Arena. "The only thing left to decide is when. Alain lives in Canada and we will have to see when it suits him."

Berger is a product of SC Bern's organization and, with the exception of three and a half seasons in North America (OHL and AHL), had only ever played for SC Bern. In over 550 National League games, he recorded 31 goals and 45 assists. He won four championships and two cups with the Bears.
