Rodwin Dionicio started last season with the San Diego Gulls, the AHL affiliate of the team that drafted him in 2023, the Anaheim Ducks. At the end of January, however, the Ducks and EHC Biel agreed on an end-of-season loan.
Now, team manager Martin Steinegger tells the "Bieler Tagblatt" that they hope they can count on the 21-year-old defender also in the upcoming season: "It's still open where Rodwin will play next season. We would like to keep him. But there's no point in dreaming. They [the Ducks] decide where he plays."
In his first pro games with the Gulls in the AHL, Dionicio collected nine points, while in games with the Seeländers he recorded six assists. He then suited up 14 times in the playoffs with Biel's U20 squad, putting up eleven points.
