Latvian forward Rodrigo Ābols joins SC Bern

“Rodrigo is a powerful and strong two-way center who also brings a lot of leadership qualities to the table," Martin Plüss, SC Bern's Head of Sport, said. Ābols was under contract with the Philadelphia Flyers for the past two seasons.

The forward played his first professional games in Latvia. He also played six seasons in Sweden, suiting up for Örebro HK and Rögle BK. Last season, he appeared in 42 games for the Flyers, recording three goals and seven assists.
