Joël Genazzi will stay with the organization and work for Lausanne's Academy. His role has yet to be defined, though. Genazzi played his last professional game in the playoff final series against the ZSC Lions.
The defenseman played junior hockey for EHC Kloten and HC Fribourg-Gottéron and made his pro debut in the Dragons' jersey. He also suited up for EHC Visp and the SCL Tigers. In 2014, he joined Lausanne HC and has been with the team ever since. He appeared in 872 National League games and 144 Swiss League games. He was also part of the national team that won silver in 2018.
Lausanne HC also bid farewell to other players at their season-end party: Gian-Marco Hammerer, Matthias Méméteau, Tim Bozon, Andrea Glauser, Lukas Frick, Michael Raffl, Lawrence Pilut, Gavin Bayreuther, and David Sklenicka.
