Jason Akeson transferred from HC Pustertal to Genève-Servette HC at the start of this season. Now the 35-year-old forward, who recently received Swiss citizenship, could temporarily return to the ICEHL. According to the Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung, EC Klagenfurter AC is interested in signing the forward.
The ICEHL club is looking for a replacement for its long-term injured captain, Thomas Hundertpfund. Therefore, a loan deal until the end of the season is said to be under consideration. Akeson is under contract with GSHC until the end of the 2026-27 season. At KAC, Akeson, who had to wait a long time for his Swiss passport and was therefore not used until the Spengler Cup, is expected to gain playing experience.
Akeson has played in four games for the Grenats so far, recording one assist. He also played in three games (no points) for IFK Helsinki as a reinforcement player in the Spengler Cup.
