"I've talked a lot to Joakim this season. Now, we are talking not about hockey but about the human. His goal and his focus are to get his life back," Jan Alston tells "Südostschweiz". "He has a young son and a family; they are in Sweden, and he is doing therapy there. While he has made progress, it is not enough to play at the professional level. But like I said, now his focus is to get his life back."
Nordström has two years left on his contract with HC Davos. He joined HCD in 2022 and was an integral part of the roster until his injury, and was one of the team captains.
