HCAP offers new contract to Jussi Tapola, signs forward Petr Kodýtek

Various rumors circulated in the past weeks about who could become the next head coach of HC Ambrì-Piotta - and the first under the new team manager Lars Weibel. In the end, the club decided to continue with Jussi Tapola, who was hired at the end of January to replace Éric Landry and René Matte.

The choice of Tapola "fits perfectly into HCAP's sporting project, which aims to build a clear and modern identity, capable of combining the club's historical values – heart, resilience, unity, and spirit of sacrifice – with a more offensive, intense, and courageous style of hockey," reads the press statement.

Additionally, the club also announced the signing of Petr Kodýtek for the next two seasons. The Czech 27-year-old forward will join the Biancoblù from HIFK, for which he played this past two years. The small center (168cm, 70kg according to EliteProspects) has been regularly selected by the Czech national team and participated in the 2025 World Championship. So far in this season, he scored 13 goals and recorded 16 assists in 47 Liiga games.

Finally, the club also reveals that the capital increase decided by the Shareholders' Meeting on February 8 is now open, aimed at strengthening the Club's financial solidity by consolidating the company's stability, ensuring greater resilience, and creating the conditions for sustainable growth in the medium term.
