The Bianconeri hope Schultz, listed at 188 centimetres and 88 kilograms, will have a positive impact on both offense and defense. "Justin is a two-way defenseman. We are confident that his experience will help us during the second part of the season," said Hnat Domenichelli, team manager of HC Lugano.
Drafted 43rd overall in 2009, he first played in the NCAA. From 2012 to 2024 he played a total of 826 games in the NHL. During these twelve seasons, he managed to record 81 goals along with 284 assists. The 34-year-old won two Stanley Cups, both with the Pittsburgh Penguins, in 2016 and 2017.
Schultz will join the team once he receives his work permit, as the necessary procedures have not been completed yet.
