A few days after announcing the signing of Chris Tierney, team manager Paolo Duca is ready to present another import for their offense, namely Nicolas Petan. The forward has signed a two-year contract with HC Ambrì-Piotta. Petan, a second-round choice in the 2013 NHL draft, has spent his career in North America, except for last year, when he joined Ak Bars Kazan in Russia.
In the city on the banks of the Volga River, Petan scored 13 goals and collected 37 assists in 60 games. Before this past season, he was in the organization of the Winnipeg Jets, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Vancouver Canucks, the Minnesota Wild and most recently the New York Rangers, spending time mostly in the AHL (299 points in 319 games, compared to 35 points in 170 NHL games).
