Christian Dubé will succeed Martin Filander who had been relieved of his duties earlier this week.

Dubé will take over effective immediately and lead his first practice with the team tomorrow morning. "Christian Dubé stands for an active, intense, and structured style of play. Under his leadership, HC Fribourg-Gottéron has demonstrated a high tempo, great aggressiveness, and clear principles on the ice for several years. We are convinced that this type of hockey is a very good fit for our squad and the DNA of EHC Biel," Martin Steinegger, team manager of EHC Biel, said.

Dubé has been looking for a new coaching position since May 2025 when he was relieved of his duties as the head coach of the Dragons. The 48-year-old Canadian has been coaching since the 2019-20 season.
