Terminating his contract with the Lions early, the forward is returning to Sweden.

As Lausanne HC announced earlier today, Lauri Pajuniemi is no longer part of the club. His contract, which would have lasted until 2026, has been terminated by mutual agreement, putting an end to the Finn's adventure in Switzerland after just one season.

Instead, Pajuniemi is returning to the Malmö Redhawks, with a three-year deal in his pocket. He already played for the SHL-team prior to joining Lausanne last summer.

During his season with the Lions, Pajuniemi made 46 games, recording ten goals and twelve assists.

Coincidentally, the 25-year-old is following the same path as fellow Finn Janne Kuokkanen, who also had joined Lausanne last summer from Malmö and also terminated his contract early to return to the club from Southern Sweden.
