Another year as a Dragon for Sandro Schmid

HC Fribourg-Gottéron has announced the renewal of Sandro Schmid's contract —which would have run out in Spring —, making him a member until 2026. He has been with them for most of his career, aside from a three-year stint in Sweden as a junior.

"We are delighted that Sandro has decided to continue his career with us", team manager Gerd Zenhäusern states. "Sandro has developed excellently in recent years, both athletically and in terms of his role in the dressing room. He embodies the values of Gottéron and will help us to reach a new level."

Schmid has made 292 appearances for Fribourg, recording 41 goals and 63 assists. This season thus far, he has put up three goals and one assist.

"I am honored to remain active with Fribourg-Gottéron and I am grateful for the trust placed in me", Schmid himself comments. "Fribourg is a club close to my heart, but above all, it is an ambitious club. I am convinced that we can achieve high goals."
