Nino Niederreiter is set to join the national team

Nino Niederreiter's Winnipeg Jets were just ousted from the playoffs last week and will now replace Nico Hischier on Switzerland's roster. The forward recorded four goals and two assists in 13 playoff games.

In other news, the national team has decided to register HC Davos' Sandro Aeschlimann as the third goaltender. They will not invite Akira Schmid, whose season with the Vegas Golden Knights also just ended, as they felt that he would need at least two games to get into the flow of the tournament. The SCL Tigers' Dario Rohrbach and HCD's Sven Jung will not be registered for the tournament.
