For the last preparation week before the 2026 IIHF World Championships in Zurich and Fribourg, Swiss national team head coach Jan Cadieux has cut and added 13 players each. This group will fly to Sweden and participate in the Beijer Hockey Games.
In net, Stéphane Charlin and Kevin Pasche are replaced by Reto Berra and Sandro Aeschlimann.
On defense, David Aebischer, Tobias Geisser, Simon Le Coultre, and Romain Loeffel are out, while Lukas Frick, Sven Jung, Roman Josi, and Simon Seiler are in. For the latter, it is the first national team selection. Jonas Siegenthaler is sidelined by an injury.
On offense, Gaëtan Haas, Fabrice Herzog, Grégory Hofmann, Dario Meyer, Dario Rohrbach, Tristan Scherwey, and Sven Senteler have been sent home. Christoph Bertschy, Attilio Biasca, Nico Hischier, Timo Meier, Nino Niederreiter, Simon Knak, and Yannick Frehner have joined. For the latter, it is the first selection as well. As for Philipp Kurashev, he is waiting for medical exams.
Behind the bench, Rikard Franzén is taking over the responsibility for the defense. Fabio Schumacher, for his part, is no longer part of the staff.
