The saga continues: EHC Arosa has not yet given up on getting a chance to be promoted to the Swiss League at the end of this season.

EHC Arosa has appealed the decision of the licensing commission to not grant them the opportunity to be promoted to the Swiss League if they were to qualify for it on the sportive side of things. EHC Arosa needs one more win against EHC Thun tonight to match the criteria needed.

EHC Arosa had time to sign the promotion agreement until February 24. As they failed to hand the form in on time, the Swiss League licensing commission decided not to grant them the right to get promoted to the League.

As it was revealed later, the MyHockey League team was trying to secure the right to continue their Winter Classics game (held between Christmas and New Year's) and that is supposedly mainly why they held off on signing. In a statement on Wednesday, the Swiss League commented on this as follows: "Although this concern was brought to the attention of the License Commission at short notice, it was not part of the appeal and the appeal body was not aware of it in this form."
