Champions Hockey League

A total of eight players with ties to Switzerland were selected in today's draft. It was the first time, the draft had three rounds as three import players will be allowed in the CHL in the 2025-26 season.

Maxime Sautier (Genève-Servette HC, forward) was drafted 30th overall by the Cape Breton Eagles. Jacopo De Luca (HC Ambrì-Piotta, Italian forward) has been selected by Le Drakkar de Baie-Comeau with the 36th pick.

Guus van der Kaaij (HC Davos, Swiss-Dutch defenseman) was picked by the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies with the 39th pick. Goaltender Christian Kirsch (played in the NAHL last season) was selected by the Kitchener Rangers 44th overall.

Adam Klaus (Lausanne HC, Czech forward), too, was picked by the Cape Breton Eagles 91st overall. Yanis Lutz (EV Zug, Swiss forward) was selected by the Peterborough Petes 111th overall. Raphael Achermann (HC Fribourg-Gottéron, Swiss forward) was chosen by Océanic de Rimouski 112th overall. 

Luca Nappiot (EHC Biel, Swiss defenseman) was also selected by Rimouski, but with the 137th pick overall. Finally, Loan Burkhalter (HC La Chaux-de-Fonds, Swiss forward) was selected by the Windsor Spitfires 175th overall.
