In January, Miro Aaltonen was provisionally suspended until further notice due to a possible substance abuse. Swiss Sport Integrity took on the case, and his contract with EHC Kloten was terminated by mutual agreement. Earlier today, a decision was announced - Aaltonen received a one-month suspension plus a fine of CHF 1,000.-.
The suspension, having started on January 17, will come to an end at the start of the coming week. As SSI notes, Aaltonen participated in a rehabilitation programme, which allowed for the suspension to be reduced to a month.
