According to the Quotidien Jurassien (relayed by "SwissHabs"), the 30-year-old forward will likely not make his return before the Olympic break in February.
Frédérik Gauthier suffered a lower-body injury in the game against HC Fribourg-Gottéron on December 5. Gauthier is joined in the infirmary by Lilian Garessus, who suffered another arm injury during a conditioning stint with EHC Basel and will be out for the remainder of the season.
There is, however, also some good news for HC Ajoie's coaching staff. Reto Schmutz and Thomas Thiry are available again and will be able to return to the Ajoulots' lineup.
