Tom Fitzgerald, general manager of the New Jersey Devils, spoke to media representatives after the NHL Trade Deadline passed. One topic was injuries, and he revealed that Jonas Siegenthaler is going to be out for the remainder of the regular season, which still lasts until April 17.
The 27-year-old underwent surgery for an undisclosed injury in February. Before that, he had suited up 55 times for the Devils this season.
New Jersey has 18 more games to go (not including the one they are playing while this article is being written) and is currently third in the Metropolitan Division. They are only four points ahead of the first Wild Card spot, with one more game played than the team inhabiting said spot (Columbus). In addition, they have lost six of their last ten games.
